Are we ‘all in it together’ as David Cameron used to say – bearing in mind that the rich have been given tax cuts and the poor have been given austerity measures? We all know that there is something fundamentally wrong with that
Are the Conservatives ‘for the working people’ – bearing in mind that before those words were even spoken, employment contracts had been scrapped or changed for the worse all across the country, redundancy packages reduced, jobs lost, incomes lost, zero hours contracts introduced, people with severe illnesses wrongly forced back into the workplace to die, and so on. We are all aware of what has been happening.
Is austerity working? – bearing in mind that the debt has risen by 1.7bn and the fact that targeting the poor to pay for the Bankers debt is only leading to bigger national problems, such as, poverty, hunger, homelessness, and so on. We all know that the debt is still out of control.
Is it right to say that fairness, justice, respecting human rights and equality of treatment are the basics for governing a democratic country? We all know that a poor person ends up in jail for not paying their taxes yet on the other hand we know that the super-rich and rich businesses are not expected to pay taxes at all. A government that allows this to happen is failing on all the basics of a democracy.
Are the Conservatives interested in taking care of our citizens’ basic needs? – bearing in mind that they have always wanted to privatise all our essential services (and get rid of the welfare state) e.g. private healthcare, private housing, private schools, private everything. And this is happening now – soon all our assets will be gone.
When the Conservatives have managed to rid themselves of all their government responsibilities for the social care of their citizens, what will they do – have more leisure time? And what will we do – we will have no services! Is that what people want?
Should we listen to the Conservatives when their only justification to us for maintaining their power is fear of change to a Labour government whilst they are getting the debt under control – which we all know isn’t happening. Their methods are causing chaos instead.
Millions of our people are being driven into dire straits, desperation and destitution. Public opinion is against this. Whoever we are and whoever we voted for - most people are not happy about this.
Join the Labour Party. Walk away from this government’s downward spiral towards the ruination of Great Britain. Welcome positive change because that is how progress is made.
Don’t accept the Conservatives negative kind of change that leaves our people desperate and our country in disarray.
Join the Labour movement for a better Britain. Let’s offer appropriate services to our people, let’s maximise their potential, let’s increase their life opportunities and life expectancy, care for their needs, give them the best healthcare we can. It’s what any positive and forward thinking government should be doing.
